Zip.ca says share your video content with friends & family

RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! Thanks for visiting! This site posts interviews, news, stories and jobs about Canadian advertising, marketing, public relations and technology companies - "the connected community". Go ahead, subscribe to our feed!

Not content with a 320,00 community membership base, Zip.ca is throwing its hat into the “user-generated content” along with their existing fast delivery of Canada’s largest selection of DVDs to members’ mailboxes. The Ottawa based company announced they are offering free hosting and sharing of user-generated video content. Consumers across Canada will now have the ability to upload, view, share, and comment on video clips submitted by the community. The community has already published more than 35,000 unique movie reviews and provided over 3 million movie ratings. By rating titles, members help contribute to Zip.ca’s ability to make personalized recommendations for future titles. Rick Anderson, President and CEO of Zip.ca states they want to “build a one-stop source for all things related to film and video in Canada.” While many companies are looking to leverage the buzz behind “user generated content” they key will still be in the ability to make the content that can easily be found by search engines.
