Zip.ca is making Gemini Awards voters’ decisions a little easier.
The DVD rental service is partnering with the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television to provide more than 200 full-length videos of nominated movies and shows right on the voters’ website.
Zip.ca’s video-on-demand technology will showcase such shows as Murdoch Mysteries and The Tudors on a dedicated website.
“Working with Zip.ca will help us to streamline the voting process by allowing members to view full episodes of nominated programs easily and immediately online” said Sara Morton, CEO of the Academy. “This shift will give members the ability to view the nominated programs in selected categories no matter where they are and to fit screenings into their busy schedules.”
By eliminating excess DVDs, packaging and shipping, the Gemini Awards will also reduce their environmental impact.
Zip.ca is also a sponsor of the Gemini Awards.
The 23rd Annual Gemini Awards take place November 28.
