Mamma.com, who call themselves “the Mother of all Search Engines”, dodged a bullet with the court approved settlement of their class actions lawsuit remains to continue to grow at a consistent pace year after year. Earlier this month they stated their Q4 and 2006 Year End results with a 118% increase in revenue to $3.57 million and net earnings of $420,175 ($.03 per share). Their growth is due to increases in search advertising revenue, new software licensing deal and other customized development and maintenance support.
They have also been busy at signing partnership deals and their latest is with Yahoo! Search Marketing’s Australia who will use their geo-targeting capabilities to link Sponsored Search listings with both relevant search query terms and the user’s geographical location to help Yahoo! Sponsored Search advertisers reach targeted customers.
Could this be the start of an eventual acquisition by Yahoo! as they look to capture more advertising revenue?
