Yahoo! has done with their latest acquisition to further position themselves as a stronger alternative for advertisers as they have purchased BlueLithium for approximately $300 million in cash. BlueLithium is the fifth largest US advertising network and second largest in the UK with 145 million unique visitors per month. Some have said this latest acquisition will help to position Yahoo as a very strong competitor to Google’s Adsense program.

This also makes Yahoo’s second ad network purchase for the year, the first was Right Media for $680 million back in May.
