As of August 31, 2008, the company has managed to amass a total of 497,400 subscribers, ever since the CRTC approved its license back in 2005.
Last month XM Canada launched their XM SkyDock which allowes the service to be streamed through Apple iTouch and iPhone devices. This week the company has launched a new app for Facebook (http://apps.facebook.com/xmonlineplus) which access to more than 100 channels of XM programming live.
To help kick off the initiative they are offering a free 14 day trial to Facebook users, and of course they can share songs and invite their friends to also sign up.
“Fans will be able to listen live to XM’s programming, including commercial-free music, sports, talk, entertainment without ever having to leave the XM Facebook Page,” said Andrea Fiederer, Marketing Director at XM Canada.
