Workopolis buys competitive job board Brainhunter for $10 million in cash

Canada’s largest job board, Workopolis has acquired Brainhunter, a competitive job board which operates boards in both Canada and the United States for $10 million in cash over the next 12 months. As part of the terms Workopolis will own a license to use the Brainhunter’s CareerSite Technology Platform in Canada and the United States and will manage the relationship of approximately 100 clients who have been using the technology.
Workopolis’ President, Patrick Sullivan commented saying “We are thrilled with this acquisition and look forward to working closely with these prominent associations to provide their members and prospective employers with enhanced opportunities to connect with each other in a very targeted way.”
Brainhunter has used their job board technology to power many association sites across North America with a revenue sharing based model.
