With just two weeks into the new year there has been a lot of movement with many new hires and some newly created positions due to overall growth of the industry.

- Canoe Inc. has recently hired Simon Rivard as their Vice President Marketing which is a a new position at the company with responsibilities that will oversee canoe.ca, jobboom.com, micasa.ca, autonet.ca, flirt.ca and the new classifieds site. Cyrille Thilloy has been named Chief of Technology, and Dominique-Sébastien Forest is Director of Digital Content.
- henderson bas is on the grow again with the recent addition of Jeffrey Quick to the newly created role of Chief Operation Officer following some recent growth of the interactive advertising agency. Prior to henderson bas, Quick was Vice President and General Manger of Consumer Database Marketing Services at Alliance Data Systems in Columbus, Ohio.
- Ira Davis has been appointed to Vice President of Sales at Workbrain, he brings over 20 years of direct sales management experience in the Enterprise ERP software industry joining Workbrain from SAP America where he was Vice President of Sales.
- Standard Interactive has named Karen Huschilt as Vice President of Sales, which is the online division of Standard Radio Inc. Prior to Standard, Karen was with Trans continental Media where she was the National Sales Manager. In the role she will look after the 132 music and entertainment websites, including IcebergRadio.com
- Stefan Powell has been added as their new Vice President of Operation, prior to this he was Technology Manager for Toronto.com and director of strategic development for SHOPTV Canada, both Torstar properties. Also Brad Gilliland as Content Syndication Director.
- Vancouver based Radiant Communications Corporation has appointed Adrian Byram as Executive Vice-President and Chief Technology Officer, bringing over 30 years of experience with software and networking companies in Canada and the Unites States.
- Advertising agency Taxi has a new Managing Director of Client Services in Cheryl Grishkewich, Bill Lisowsky gets promoted to General Manager of Taxi West. Dave Watson jumped from Gee, Jeffrey & Partners while Aggie Brook also joins Taxi from Leo Burnett. Scott McNeill has been added as Talent Manager, Bhavik Gajjar and Adam Pickard have been hired as Art Directors. Marta Zakrzewska and Daniel Bonder have joined the agency as copywriters.
