Week That Was – 2008-12-05

We’re nearing the end of 2008, the Canada’s political scene finally got a backbone last week as Harper and the boys on the Hill put on a battle of words that had all of Canada watching in dismay.  One good thing that came out of it was to watch people who would probably never talk about politics being engaged in discussion and of course many used just about every social media tool possible to express themselves.

The market continues to take a beating, major publishers and agencies announced layoffs over the last two weeks, are you preparing your career “just in case?”

There are over 900 votes for the Who is Canada’s most influential woman in Social Media? and you have until December 20th to vote.  We also made a call for nominations for the most influential men in social media, and there have been over 60 nominations so far.

Don’t forget our upcoming events in 2009, we’re still looking for speaker for February’s “As The World Searches” and for Shop Online ‘09 in April.

Here are some of the other industry stories and news that we talked about in this edition of The Week That Was.
