What does $300 - 500 million get you these days, oh about a 5% stake in the most popular social network today, Facebook. Rumours around the net were flying all last week about how much Microsoft would invest into Facebook, of course this also sparks rumours about what Google and Yahoo would do a counter-moves.
Intel announced a 10% cut in its workforce to keep the computer chip manufacturer lean, this marks the third year in a row the company has done this. Of course it doesn’t help that competitor AMD is nipping at Intel’s heals, AMD recently purchased Canadian graphics chip manufacturer ATI.

Amazon went live with their new online music service, will they give the iTunes music store a run for its money? With over 2 million songs, from 1 million cds, 180,000 artists representing over 20,000 labels Steve Jobs might be putting a few extra hours at the office this week.
The repercussions of Alliance Atlantic’s shut down of the Blogtv.ca service still continues to poor in, at last count 53 employees had been let go including Claude Galipeau who was heading up the initiative.
ZipLocal also went through some staffing changes last week as the company’s Chief Technology Officer Mahmoud Al-Daccak announced he’ll be leaving the company at the end of November 2007 to pursue other opportunities.
