Wow - what a week for Online advertising with just under $7 Billion being spent on acquisitions in one week. First up is online advertising rep firm Gorilla Nation which sold a $50 million private equity stake of itself to Great Hill Partners. The company currently has 120 employees, including employees in their Toronto-based office and is looking to grow to 200. AOL also caught some action last week by acquiring a controlling interest in German based ADTECH AG. AOL will use ADTECH AG’s ad management and delivery applications enabling website publishers to manage, traffic and report on their online advertising campaigns which will operate under their Advertising.com division. Microsoft also announced they acquired aQuantive for $6 billion. The last acqusition was WPP acquiring 24/7 REAL MEDIA for $649 million to help round out their online offering.
