Canada’s online video world continues to grow and last week I had a chance to talk with Tyler Cavell who’s behind NuVu.TV and recently received US$1M in venture financing which just might help him to solidify him to become the Ted Turner of Internet broadcasting. While the idea of consumer generated content is definitely a good one and helps to facilitate social media, there still will only be so many times that a consumer can share the same piece of content. Tyler’s business model is very different and he is positioning NuVu.TV to become the world’s source for video news stories which is something that consumers will need whether we are in good economic conditions or bad.
Rogers is helping us get one step closer to the future of communications as John Boynton, Rogers Wireless Chief Marketing Officer and actor William Shatner helped to launch Rogers VISION which will finally bring subscribers video calling or turning your mobile device into a webcam to allow for face-to-face calling in real time.
Kaboose continues to grow their stable of sites targeted at mothers with the purchase of Amazingmoms.com.
