Social Media is still a very hot area, and last week’s SOLD OUT breakfast seminar hosted by Profectio brought together a room filled of advertising, marketing and public relations professionals. Speakers included Maggie Fox (View click her for Maggie’s presentation) and Baron Manett & Brad Robbins from SEGAL (click here for SEGAL’s presentation). I also shared some results from the Corporate Blogging Survey and will have it posted to the site very shortly so stay tuned for the results. Nortel’s CTO launches a corporate blog, John Roese has decided to embrace the changing world of communication. New start up, Askipedia is looking to bring more power to consumers mobile phone by allow them to ask and answer everyday questions while on the go. Canoe.ca and Rogers enter into a large content sharing deal across 11 of Rogers online properties

Deal Flow
non-linear creations has been selected by Grocerygateway.com which was purchased by grocery retailer operated by Longo Brothers Fruit Markets Inc., implement Endeca for Online Retail’s Guided Navigation. The deal will provide Grocerygateway.com with Endeca’s Online Retail’s Guided Navigation, Search, and Merchandising which will help to will boost site visitors’ search capabilities and browsing experience, ensuring a positive online customer visit each and every time.

TELUS has signed a five-year, multi-million dollar contract with Best Buy Canada, which will connect all of its stores across Canada with a private IP network. TELUS’ IP network will carry voice, video and data over a single network infrastructure, allowing Best Buy to reduce costs. At the same time, Best Buy is enhancing its communication capabilities, meeting customer demands through advanced applications designed to improve efficiencies, supporting sales staff and delivering a unique shopping experience to Canadians. The TELUS IP solution is fully compatible with Best Buy Canada’s existing network, reducing implementation risks and enabling new productivity-enhancing applications like a new point- of-sale system, video conferencing, multimedia, gaming, and music.
