Week That Was

Profectio – latin for “the source” brings together Canada’s Connected Community

Dell – has appointed Shantanu Narayen, President and CEO of Adobe, this one has me a little confused, personally I don’t see the strategic reasoning behind this; maybe there’s a possible hardware/ software merger in the near future?
Cicso – Is on another shopping spree after their purchase of Pure Digital, maker of the Flip video cameras a few months ago, this time picking up a video conferencing company called Tandberg for $3 billion, Cisco also acquired WebEx which is another provider of video conferencing solutions

Twitter – Said they will be launching a Twitter Lab where developers can create add-ons and other functions for Twiter and work together with the Twitter team in a more formal process
Dell – Plans to launch their own spart phone in 2010 using Google’s Android operating system
Facebook – Is getting ready to launch their new Advertising API which will allow for better targeted ads; just when you thought their revenues couldn’t increase any more
Facebook – Be careful who you poke, a woman is the US is arrested after violating a court order against her not to ““no telephoning, contacting or otherwise communicating with the petitioner.”
