Vote: Can Twitter Save Chris Brown’s Career?

The number of celebrities on Twitter (or someone tweeting for them) continues to grow on a daily basis, Britney Spears (britneyspears), Shaquille O’Neal  (THE_REAL_SHAQ), Lance Armstrong (lancearmstrong) are a few who use it to grow their fan base or in Lance’s a talk about his charity work.  There has also been a big spike due in part to Aston Kutcher (aplusk) challenging CNN and Oprah Winfrey (oprah) announcing on her show that she’s joined the social network.

Living your life in front of millions can be good and it can bad especially when you get a beat down in public and then we all get to watch a battle of words on Twitter such as a few nights ago between John Mayer and Perez Hilton.

chris_brownTwitter is not only being used for personal branding, but also for damage control, something that Chris Brown is desperately now in need of since avoiding jail time earlier this week in the abuse case that involves his ex-girlfriend Rhianna.  Many feel that justice wasn’t served, but what impact will this trial have on his career?  He still have millions of fans around the world and I’m sure they want to hear from him to know his side of the story.  Twitter is an instantaneous communications tool that allows a user to give an honest message without interpretation by the news outlets, but can Chris Brown use Twitter to improve his public image?  What are your thoughts?
