It has been a while since we’ve written about video aggregator/ advertising service VideoEgg since they made their debut into the Canadian market back in June 2008. Since then they’ve now expanded with a Toronto office and have hired Grant Le Riche as their Toronto sales person. I had a chance to catch up with Troy Young, CMO for VideoEgg (born and breed Canuck) at a mixer event held by VideoEgg here in Toronto. There has been a lot of talk at industry events in 2009 about video and how to monetize online video and as we are nearing the end of the year there are still few people who’ve been able to figure out the special sauce and best way to engage audiences yet make a buck through advertising.
I’ve had the chance to chat with Maura Hanley, Senior Vice President, Direct & Interactive at Mediacom Canada a number of times and it still comes down to a content creators working better with brands to create that unique experience. Troy did share the company has had an exception 2009 fiscal year and expects 2010 to be even better .
