If you are a content producer part of the key to your success (aside from having great content that others want to access) is to be part of a great distribution system and you just can’t get much better than Apple iTunes. Ontario’s public education media network TVO has signed a deal to distribute content and share in revenue with Apple’s iTunes.
“Partnering with iTunes offers TVO new potential to significantly increase the impact of our unique made-in-Ontario content in the borderless digital space,” said Lisa de Wilde, TVO’s Chief Executive Officer. “Now a whole new audience of parents and their kids around the globe will discover TVOKids’ fun and creative approach to educational media.”
Songs and videos from their TVOKids library will be made available for purchase on a pay-per-download basis in the Spring of 2009. TVO also has content distribution deals with Yahoo! Canada, Joost.com and YouTube.
