Toronto Tech Week is quickly approaching and will be represent the first time that Toronto’s technology industry has come together around a single activity or event, or in this case 20+ event over 7 days that will allow for education, celebration and networking. Toronto represents over 3,300 firms and 148,00 employees which together create over $30 billion in sales and $6 billion in exports. I’ve been fortunate to be the Chair for Toronto Tech Week (TTW) along with a great Organizing Committee who are helping to shape up this exciting week.
Part of what makes Toronto’s technology sector so great is its richness in diversity of people, skills, products and services that are created by the local businesses. At the same time that also can makes it hard to know who are some of the “rising stars” or companies that help to make us so great. Leading up to TTW I’ve decided to start a series of posts that will help to answer the question and share the story of some of the great people and companies that are part of Toronto’s tech sector. As part of that I’m looking to interview people who are part of the industry who are doing interesting or cool things with technology for an interview series, but the most exciting part is that a few others will join me on this discovery of Toronto’s tech sector. The first person who’s agreed to join me is Scott Mac Donald who will introduce himself in a post following this. A seperate RSS feed has been created for the TTW series and you can subscribe by clicking here.
Radiant Core has just completed the work on the official TTW website which I must say they’ve done a great job in such a short time to complete the project.
We’ll also be hosting our Shoeless Schmooze on April 4th to bring together the community for lots of networking, socializing, drinks and food, so don’t forget to bring lots of business cards.
