One of the biggest challenges that companies are being faced with today is trying to hire the best talent to match clients growing demands. If we look back at the “dot com boom” there was this great buzz in the air and then when the bottom fell out a lot of great talent left the industry leaving a void. Now companies are scrambling to find people who not only understand the technology but can present and talk in business terms. According to Calgary based Interactive agency Rare Method, there is another HR problem - 79% of employees leave their jobs in part due to a lack of recognition. Overall, 65% of employees felt that they were not recognized at all in the past year. Further studies say that 75% of employees are not fully engaged in their jobs.

CEO Roger Jewett feels he’s come up with the solution - Kudos(TM) - “a fast, fun, and easy way to harness employee recognition, improve Kudoscommunication, enhance productivity, and foster a positive corporate culture.” The new web based solution is the result of over a year of using the system internally to help with their own employee recognition needs which seems to be work since the firm has grown by 59% in revenue to $2.04 million in Q2 of 2007 compared to Q2 of 2006 and has helped them to become Calgary’s 2nd fastest growing company.
