Thank you to the current Profectio readers, attendees and sponsors. I’ve always been taught that you should do what you love, and that’s exactly what Profectio.com started off as just a few months ago when I introduced the first post. For years I’ve come across a lot of great people who are doing some really interesting things with technology across Canada, but felt there really wasn’t a strong platform for them to get their message out to the rest of the world. It is easy for companies like Google, Microsoft and Yahoo to make headlines and have everyone be interested in writing stories about them, but what about the Canadian startups and others who are not as large as that, what about the companies who have a great service but no one has heard about yet. Since launching we’ve covered a wide range of companies from coast to coast, much of it with the help from many tips so keep sending them in.

Things in the advertising, marketing and technology world are changing so fast that there is a tremendous need for education to keep people up to date so we’ve also been focusing on providing events such as Word Up which is a full day conference on word of mouth marketing. As well in January the Power Breakfast Series was launched, be sure to check out our next event on March 25, “Digital Advertising - What is Next?”

Now it is time to plan the next phase of Profectio.com and look to offer you more. Plans are underway and some new things will be unveiled in the upcoming weeks including a re-design of the site.
