Montreal based start-up Text2it has opened the doors to their beta of their newest feature targeted at mobile users. The new feature allows users to transfer calls to any landline or mobile phone, increasing the convenience of these type of up and coming mobile VOIP services. Text2it’s VP of Sales & Marketing, Costa Nikols, “Our call transfer capability offers exactly that - users can initiate a Text2it call on one phone and transfer it to a different one at any time. Just press a couple of keys on your phone’s dialpad and take that call out the door with you.”

The VOIP, especially mobile VOIP space continues to grow with new entrants, however adoption still remains slow here in Canada, but the market potential is around an estimated $1.2 billion and over 230 million estimated wireless subscribers in the US alone. It will be an uphill battle for companies in this space as they have to sit and patiently wait for consumer adoption rate to shift and for now will have to rely upon creative marketing techniques to get the consumer to start using mobile VOIP solutions.
