Telus announced $100+ million investment to give faster mobile data access speeds

TelusThe race to provide Canadian consumers the fastest possible mobile data access with a $100 million injection from Telus. The telecommunications provider is used the invesment to provide faster speeds on its wireless high speed EVDO network throughout Southern Ontario, Montreal and Winnipeg, with enhanced speeds coming to the company’s full existing EVDO coverage areas later this year. Telus first launched their EVDO network in late 2005 which is available to their 5.1 million wireless subscribers across Canada. Clients will be able to take advantage of the faster speeds to share large data files such as pictures and provides a better experience for streaming services.

In today’s fast-paced informational society, Canadians are increasingly looking for ways to stay connected and entertained while outside the home or office. With TELUS announcement today of enhanced speeds to wireless high speed service in Southern Ontario, Montreal and Winnipeg, we are making it even faster to do just that, said Robert Blumenthal, TELUS senior vice-president of Products and Services. TELUS continues to invest significantly in the future of telecommunications to bring Canadians the most innovative products and services to meet their needs for fast, reliable communications solutions.
