Social networking meets VOIP with CounterPath

Yesterday Vancouver based CounterPath Solutions announced a deal it struck with YFonGlobal a social networking platform to provide their ‘ VoIP and Video over IP SIP softphones solutions to be used for YFonGlobal’s white-labeled offering. With the new partnership, customers using YFonGlobal’s wyndstorm solution can now in turn offer an integrated voice/video calling and Instant Messaging capabilities, enabling customers to offer a more dynamic and interactive communication experience to their members. More and more social networks are being offering on a daily basis around the globe and one area that has not been fully tapped is VOIP or Voice Over Internet Protocol.
The first implementation of this integrated social network and calling solution will be MyGK, a 1.6 million international student online community, launching this month with a focus on safe collaboration, search and sharing.
