As if Canada’s sports fanatics needed more encouraging. Thanks to The Score, hockey night just got a whole lot more interactive.
Today marks the launch of Score Predictor, ScoreMobile’s “sports fantasy league” SMS application. Score viewers will become the first sports fans in North America with the ability to text in their game predictions to The Score itself. Developed in partnership with MyThum Interactive, users can comment on up to three games a day, on any game in the NHL and NFL (other leagues will be added as their seasons begin).
Top prognosticators will be listed on broadcasts and on The Score’s website. Users play for bragging rights, though top players will get more entries in a draw to win a 50″ plasma TV this fall.
This does add a great new dimension to watching the game. Why just watch when you can get involved in the commentary ?
It should be fun to watch how this plays out in sports bars across the country. I wonder how many shouting matches will break out because somebody text-trash-talks someone else’s team. Talk about interactive.
While the app is officially only supposed to be used for predictions, it’s not likely to stop there. Since The Score welcomes the idea of trash talk in its press release, expect furious ALL CAPS criticisms of everything slumping teams and players do. For sports fans, seeing their angry words onscreen will be infinitely more satisfying than shouting at it.
My dad in his La-Z-Boy never had it so good.

Thanks for the good post. I really love this tv seasons. Can’t wait for the another season ! Keep up the awesome work with this
