Rogers Wireless and Jasper Wireless New Partnership, Get Ready For eReader Adoption

rogers-attRogers Wireless announced a new multi-year, exclusive partnership with Jasper Wireless, which provides mobile network operators with platform that allows for easy and wireless connection connect consumer electronics and emerging machine-to-machine (M2M) devices. With this new partnership in place Rogers Wireless is one step closer to opening the door to allow for personal navigation and e-readrs to operate on their network.

What does the Rogers Wireless and Jasper Wireless partnership mean?

Looking back at a few stories we’ve covered, in June of this year Research In Motion (RIM), makers of the Blackberry purchased GPS-based company Dash Navigation and last month we saw the Amazon’s Kindle become available to a number of countries around the world except Canada. This new partnership could potentially solve both of these opportunities and consumers might in fact be able to have their emails read to this which is perfect timing especially as new laws are now in place that prohibit the use of cell phones while driving. As well this now opens to door to increased revenue streams as Rogers might be looking to be the first wireless carrier in Canada to offer the Amazon Kindle.
