Election freebie of the day: Digital political “lawn signs” for your blog or social network page.
Creators at Spark Internet Marketing say they’re the first of their kind in Canada, and signs for all five major parties are available for free at the Spark website.
The signs work on most major social network sites, including Facebook and Twitter.
For those who don’t want to wear their political hearts on their digital sleeves, a party-neutral “October 14: Make Your Mark” sign is also available.
It will be interesting to see how many times the neutral sign is downloaded. While there’s obviously a market for political signatures, many people might be reluctant to declare their party favourite to the digital world.
Still, if the signs are a success, it will suggest people are open to advertising on their personal home pages. Not blatant logos and declarations, maybe, but slogans of support for certain causes and beliefs.
Incidentally, Spark is tallying how many downloads each sign receives before October 9, and releasing the results shortly after. It might be a good indicator of which way the election is going.
Check out the signs at the Spark Internet Marketing site.
