Retail Holiday E-Commerce shopping up 18% reaching $18 Billion

comScore released some holiday e-commerce spending yesterday for the time period November 1 – December 7, 2007 which shops an increase of 18% over the same period in 2006.

“December got off to a strong start, as we saw spending growth accelerate to 20 percent for the week and the first ever $800 million online spending day on record,” said comScore Chairman Gian Fulgoni. “It was a terrific kick-start to December, but we expect the upcoming week to be the heaviest online spending week of the holiday season as the procrastinators and late-season deal-seekers come out in earnest.”

With more than $18 billion being spent for the 2007 Holiday season the online world the online world is once again hitting hitting a new strides and with less than 3 weeks away until the big day there is nothing to stop the sales from growing.
