A few months ago we got a heads up that UK-based advertising agency Red Urban was looking to expand to Toronto, the Omnicom-owned company has spent the past eight years serving clients in both Europe and the USA.
Red Urban has also hired Peter Housley as President and CEO of their Canadian operations. Peter has worked in a variety of sectors including
retail, hospitality, automotive, beverage, consumer packaged goods, and Internet services. Previously, Peter served as President of Milestones Restaurants and as CEO at Lavalife Inc. He also has notable Senior Marketing experience at Zellers and Procter & Gamble. On the agency side, Housley has worked with TBWA/Chiat/Day and JWT.

Peter adds, “We’ve seen how the first generation of digital communications developed as marketing discipline. We’ve learnt what works and most importantly what can be done better to get the balance right between creativity, communication and technology. Red Urban will be providing Canadian marketers with the creative business solutions they’ve been seeking, but aren’t finding in other agencies.”
The company is currently looking to staff up in preparaion for their official launch and as Peter says “Red Urban is looking for media savvy creative thinkers and communicators. We’re rethinking the business as well as traditional agency roles, and are searching for some outstanding people to join the Red Urban team that’s being assembled.”
