MyThumFive short years ago Michael Carter saw an opportunity in what at the time was an untapped area - providing advertisers and marketers with mobile marketing solutions. Last Thursday they took time to celebrate their five year milestone with a room filled with over 50 employees and some cool customers. I mean who wouldn’t want to work with great brands such as Molson, Virgin Mobile, MuchMusic, House of Blues, Rogers and many more.Michael Carter, MyThum

CTO, Anthony Kanfer attributes the success of the company to three key things, “smart people, good customers and good relationships.” Anthony was employee number three and has seen MyThum grow from just a few people in a room to one of Canada’s top mobile marketing providers. They didn’t get here without some challenges along the way, “we invested a lot of time in educations of the carriers to get them to embrace the new technology and different ways of doing business, and then getting prospects to understand what mobile can do for their business.”

In five years we have seen many advancements in mobile technology, the demand by consumer to have devices such as the Blackberry or much anticipated iPhone have also helped to drive the mobile usage around the world to a point where we want to be “always connected.

MyThum also recently picked up the “Company of the Year” at the 7th Annual Canadian New Media Awards held in Toronto, Canada in the spring of 2007. So what’s next for MyThum? Possible some of the rumours floating around the industry that the company will go public may come true.
