Mobile News: Rogers Wireless new Second Voice Line Service, Palm Canada & Telus launch the Treo 755p

Rogers Wireless recently has launched a new service called Second Voice Line Service or SVLS, in which customers an option for two numbers on one cell phone.

“Second Voice Line Service is an incredible wireless solution for our small-to-medium sized business customers who are looking for ways to save valuable time,” said Irv Witte, Vice President, Business Marketing, Rogers Wireless, in a release. “This innovation in wireless technology provides increased productivity, convenience and real cost savings, up to 49 per cent(*) every month off the cost of your second wireless line.”

The service is aimed at Roger Wireless SMB customers and rangers from $20 to $30 per month.

Palm Canada and TELUS have announced the availability of the Treo 755p, some of the features include:

- First Treo with Microsoft Direct Push Technology and/or TELUS Mobile Email – both which automatically send you emails in real-time
Palm Treo 77p - First Treo in Canada Integrating Google Maps for Mobile
- Superior phone functionality, including one-touch speakerphone and conference calling, the ability to ignore a call with text messaging and the option to use the colour touch-screen dial pad
- Convenient voice-memo application, which can be used to create custom ring tones and add voice annotations to photos or simply record a quick memo;
- Support for EVDO (Rev.0) for downloading large files fast;
- Default data transfer mode, which allows users to be notified of incoming voice calls while using data services, rather than calls automatically going to voicemail; and
- Built-in multimedia features, including an MP3 player and video recorder.
This new model just might give my trusty Blackberry a run for its money especially with push technology integrated that allows real-time emailing, is it Christmas time yet?
