Media Strategist – McMillan, OTTAWA, ON

McMillan (thinkmcmillan.com) is looking for a savvy media strategist with an entrepreneurial flair and desire to run his/her own media department in a dynamic creative agency. We need someone with proven strategic, planning, and buying skills, experience running integrated B2B and B2C campaigns, and the ability to help us grow our media business.

Sound interesting? Read on. As our media strategist, you’ll be involved with a variety of accounts, liaising with clients, and working closely with McMilllan’s creative teams. You’ll be given the opportunity to plan and execute regional, national, and international media campaigns that combine online, print, broadcast, and outdoor media.

Qualified candidates will have the following:

• Degree or diploma in marketing, communications, advertising, media, broadcasting, or business.
• Minimum five years experience in a media, marketing, advertising or promotions capacity—preferably within an agency or media organization.
• Extensive experience planning and buying all media including online, broadcast, and print.
• Experience developing and managing complex media budgets.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Superior negotiating and interpersonal skills.
• Extensive experience creating and analyzing media research.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing media environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
