Here’s a new one for social marketing and start-ups, an online community based around “martial arts.” Utilizing open source platform, Joomla’s free code the cost for entry is pretty low so why not give it a try? The site is called Martialartreview.com, and is a new start-up based in Vancouver, British Columbia.  Some of the features of the site include a martial arts school direction with close to 5,000 listings, blogs, forum and events calender. Niche based business model are a good idea, but is there enough to keep martial arts students coming back time and time again? The revenue model for the site seems to rely upon Google Ads which is great as long as they can keep the traffic up. Across Canada there have been a few more sports based social networking sites such as YourTeam Online which we’ve reported on a few times.
