Marketing Copywriter – McMillan, Ottawa, ON

Do you like selling stuff? No, I mean really like it. Do you get inappropriately excited when it comes time to post your old Xbox on eBay? Do you find yourself thinking up guerrilla marketing tactics for the neighbourhood lemonade stands? That’s a good start, but it’s just that: a start. Here’s the kicker. Are you the best writer you know? No, seriously, the best. That’s all we take. Do you have a razor wit, killer timing, and a poetic ear? And (uh-oh, you knew there was going to be a catch) can you prove it?

We’re currently looking for a Marketing Copywriter for our Ottawa office. Senior? Junior? Somewhere in between? Frankly, we don’t care, as long as you have talent and drive. As a McMillan copywriter you’ll have adventures working across disciplines on short and long copy for radio, print advertising, brochures, the web, and everything in between. You’ll be knee-deep in the creative process from concept to execution.

Here’s what we think you’ve got to offer:

  • Somewhere between 1 and 27 years experience in marketing, advertising, or corporate communications
  • Experience with interactive media and direct marketing
  • University or community college degree in marketing, advertising, or corporate communications
  • Serious, major-league writing skills

If you think that’s you, send your cover letter, resume, and portfolio/samples (remember when we asked you to prove it?) by email to hr@thinkmcmillan.com. Please include Copywriter in the subject line of your email.
