The Account Management team, lead by the Associate Director – Media Account Management, manages and monitors the day-to-day activities within our accounts and the execution of Internet advertising customer orders, from initial briefing to campaign post-mortem, including avails checking, order entry and creative management. To achieve this, the AM team manages the fulfilment and optimization of campaigns in line with the customer’s requirements and expectations. Reporting relationship:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations and Business Strategy, the Associate Director will be leading and managing Canada’s top team of Internet Advertising Account Managers.

Role description:
The Associate Director in charge of account management sets the business direction for his/her team, is responsible for allocating team resources to make best use of individual talent, and is responsible for developing the capability of individual team members in line with current and future business requirements.

The Associate Director partners with sales to build relationships with key contacts in customer organizations and drives rigorous adoption of Sales Processes and tools. The business environment demands that the leader demonstrates a capability to plan and manage for both short and longer-term revenue goals.

Success in this role relies on the leader having an in-depth understanding of customers / partners in the market and their ability to effectively allocate resources to meet customer needs. A hands-on approach to people management and a good grasp of people development strategies are also keys to successful execution.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
1. Business Performance
* Implement & manage key performance indicators to maximize Sympatico / MSN ROI
* Deliver against all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
* Support Account Managers in delivering annual targets
* Drive the AM contribution to plans and coach AMs in the delivery of customer commitments based on their maturity and skill set.
* Drive up customer satisfaction and resolve high-level issues with AMs and Sales
* Allocate targets between team members to challenge and stretch in line with their capabilities and track record
* Allocate resources to best meet the needs of Sales and the customer
* Troubleshoot issues that arise in a timely manner

2. Business Management
* Create annual Growth Plan specifying growth targets, resource requirements, deployment and development plans for the team for inclusion in the market growth plan
* Develop business cases for investment decisions
* Provide operational forecasts and actively monitor and manage the sales opportunities
* Drive the adoption of sales processes and tools so that accounts and opportunities are comprehensively and accurately documented
* Conduct/participate in regular business reviews
* Participate in strategic account and opportunity reviews with account teams as required
* Leverage personal network of contacts within the industry to create a recruitment pipeline

3. People Management
* Create engagement & commitments for all direct reports
* Create Development plans for all direct reports
* Conduct regular reviews of the Commitments and Development plans and document mid-year and annual review summaries and feedback
* Plan and schedule regular feedback and coaching support to individuals in the team to continually improve performance
* Assist and advise team members on career options and career development
* Recruit high-value talent into the team and adopt structured processes to evaluate suitability, capability and organizational fit

Experiences Desired
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* 5 years+ of Account Management experience in a communications company or agency
* Experience in People Management
* Proven ability to develop a network of contacts and relationships within the industry
