This is an opportunity to join the Sympatico.MSN.ca Portal team in the role of Director, National Media Sales. In a leadership role with Canada’s largest reaching portal, we are seeking an individual to lead a team of online advertising sales executives, develop and foster senior level relationships with our agency and client account base and be responsible for managing sales generation and strategy for the team in order to consistently meet or exceed our sales and profitability goals.

Location: Downtown Toronto office

Key Responsibilities:

Lead a team of online media sales professionals and provide management and coaching on guidance for development.
Develop and manage a budget for forecasting sales and operational expenses for the territory and the sales team in order to meet annual sales and profitability goals.
Maintain and manage the lists of existing and prospective clients of all the sales representatives.
Monitor and ensure that pricing is compliant with company policy.
Acquire and develop a long term, strategic relationship with the clients.
Determine key sales tools, establish and execute development plans for the sales team
Manage client complaints and ensure client satisfaction for the sales force and other contacts within the company.
Direct weekly sales team meetings and attend weekly executive level sales and operations meetings
Train and support sales team as well as hiring and performance appraisal.

Skills and Qualifications:
In depth knowledge and relationships in the advertising agency industry
Job experience in the online media industry (minimum 5 years)
Job experience managing a team of media sales people
Exceptional communication skills, and the drive to meet and exceed sales targets
Effective leadership skills and negotiation abilities
University degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field with a minimum of 8 years experience in online sales
At least 3 years experience in team management and project management
Highly organized and multi-task oriented, self-motivated
