Former Bell, President of Operations, Patrick Pichette was appointed last month to Google Executive team as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Starting on August 1, Patrick will report directly to Google’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Eric Schmidt.

So what is the going rate for a Google Executive these days? Patrick’s signing bonus has been reported to be $500,000. He does of course come to the table with 20 years of experience in financial operations and management in the telecommunications sector, including 7 years at Bell Canada, which he joined in 2001 as Executive Vice President of Planning and Performance Management.
