One area that is really untapped is “social shopping,” when an eCommerce or online sale occurs on a social network. Canadian retailer Golf Town recently launched their “12 Tweets of Christmas” campaign, which leverages social media. The campaign launched on December 4th and for 12 consecutive days will feature daily offers to consumers who follow the retailers Twitter feed, specials will include Golf Town golf equipment, apparel and accessories and include free UPS ground shipping.
