Andrew Black’s wish of having a Canada where cell phone customers are able “to take your number from one company to another puts customers in the driver’s seat and will change the way mobile companies treat their customers” seems to have to true. Who is he, he’s the President and CEO of Virgin Mobile Canada and along with Sir Richard Branson who founded Virgin Mobile have been very focal in their fight against other telcos and the CRTC to free Canadians and give them “choice.”
The Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association is lending their support to education Canadians with the lauch of www.wirelessnumberportability.ca to offer some quick FAQS. Wireless number portability is available in every metropolitan areas across the country and will now open the flood gate for competition amongst the telcos.
