As Meg Whitman made her exit to try her hand at politics eBay has been trying to re-define itself, over the last few months it has sold off acquisitions such as Skpe and StumbleUpon. As the economy is set to make a climb back up online properties are getting ready for a surge in online advertising sales and eBay Canada has signed an agreement with Toronto-based Casale Media to represent the online auction site and sell its online advertising inventory.
“eBay.ca is a unique and attractive property because its audience is made up of people who are ready to buy.” said Andrea Stairs, country manager, eBay Canada. “The eBay audience is saturated with active online shoppers who are looking for value and selection across a tremendous range of categories. eBay is a powerful platform to engage consumers who are intent on making a purchase.”
As part of the deal Casale will represent all of eBay.ca’s contextual online channels (Motors, Electronics, Clothing, Shoes & Accessories, Home & Garden, etc.).
