Down But Not Out, MapQuest Makes A Return, But It Beat Google Maps?

According to their blog, MapQuest has made some improvements to their tool which include “new map style and imagery improvements,” but will it be enough to regain market share with consumers. There was a time when MapQuest was the standard application that consumers would use when trying to play out a trip, I can recall many times seeing someone printed out a MapQuest page that outlined detailed directions to get from Point A to Point B. Since then Google and Google Maps have come and dominated the mapping world, adding mobile applications that world on smart phones such as Blackberry and the iPhone, and having launched widgets that sit on your desktop.

While I applaud MapQuest for trying one more time, it just might be too late.
