DHX Media acquires Studio B for $20 million

Halifax-based DHX Media Ltd. which is an independent producer and distributor of television programming and interactive content and the parent company of DECODE Entertainment and Halifax Film has acquired Studio B Productions Inc. Studio B is based in Vancouver and produces children’s programming such as Kid vs. Kat for YTV, Ricky Sprocket, Showbiz Boy! For Teletoon and Martha Speaks for WGBH in the United States.

The deal is worth approximately CAD $20 million with an initial cash payment of CAD $8 million and balance of 70% in shares in DHX Media.
