For the 8th year Deloitte has presented their Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) Predictions 2009 which looks at the next 12 months of technology and gives attendees a good perspective on where or how to adjust their current businesses and prepare for the upcoming year.
Duncan Stewart, Director of Research for Deloitte led the 400+ in attendance yesterday in downtown Toronto through the predictions followed by a discussion panel drilling down on key areas. Considering the current change in economic conditions speakers were very optimistic about the coming year, panelists even went as far as to say that the turn back “up” might occur in 2010.
“As Canada and the world emerge from this recession, the TMT industry will be transformed,” says Duncan Stewart, Director of Deloitte Canada Research. “It will be more profitable, more flexible and even more responsive to customer needs. The lessons learned during these hard times are painful but as a result we will continue to see new and better devices, business models and entrepreneurs emerge.”
There is a full break down of the predictions for the (3) areas, but below are the predictions for media.
