Dave Stevens Appointed General Manager of MySpace Canada

The fight to be the number one social networking site has a new chapter here in Canada as MySpace Canada announced the appointment of Dave Stevens as General Manager where he’ll be responsible for overseeing strategy and operations for the MySpace Canada community. Prior to MySpace, Dave was Vice President of Product Management and Strategy at CanWest Digital Media. There he was responsible for strategy and operations for canada.com and CanWest’s youth brand, dose.ca. He also led business development for emerging media platforms including mobile, IPTV and digital outdoor display and worked with the marketing, AOL Canada as a Seniro Manager of Content and Sales Strategy before joining CanWest.

There have been many rumours over the last few months that Facebook was going to launch a Canadian division and I have even heard the names of specific industry veterans who might take the helm, so looks like the battle shall continue for another day<br>
