Cascada Mobile And Polar Mobile Partner To Help Publishers Reach Untapped Mobile Audiences

Here in Toronto there has been a growing focus by developers and publishers to get their content in the hands of mobile surfers across Canada and reach this untapped market.   Events such as Mobile Monday or even a recent iPhone Developer day held by Apple back in December are held to encourage software developers to build applications on platforms such as Research In Motion’s Blackberry and Apple’s iPhone.  There are still a number of other mobile devices from companies such as Nokia, Motorola and Palm (who is getting ready for a come back) that could be utilized and provide a opportunity to build upon to reach a wider base of consumers.

A new partnership between two Toronto-based mobile players is looking to bridge that gap as Cascade Mobile and Polar Mobile have signed an agreement to utilize Cascada’s Breeze mobile development platform beyond smart phones and extend to Java-based mobile devices.  According to the company, mobile applications can be created in as little time 15 minutes and the company has capabilities that allow for testing of applications on hundreds of devices currently on the market.

Polar Mobile has already built the first their first application using the Breeze platform (pictured above) for The Hockey News giving fans the latest updates, scores and news on the NHL.
