We spend a lot of time pumping out the most creative campaigns we can to ensure that our clients and business goals are met, and industry recognition is just the icing on the cake! I recently had a chance to chat with Wayne Youkhana, Director of the CLIO as he and his team get ready for the 50th CLIO Awards. They are pulling out all the stops this year as the awards that recognizes advertising, design and interactive. The awards does attract many Canadian entries and a few Canucks have won over the years, last year the awards attracted over 25 delegates to beautiful South Beach.
Deadline for entries into 2009 CLIO Awards ends January 23, 2009 for all work appearing between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008. The five distinct award shows are:
- Moving Image Awards – recognizing Television/Cinema/Digital & Television/Cinema/Digital Technique mediums.
- Emerging Media Awards – recognizing Content & Contact, Innovative Media, Interactive, and Integrated mediums.
- Print & Radio Awards – recognizing Print, Radio, Direct Mail, Poster and Billboard mediums.
- Design Awards – recognizing Design mediums.
- Lifetime Achievement Awards – recognizing the outstanding and ongoing contribution of an individual who leads the industry forward.
They have also just announced a new category, Strategic Communications/Public Relations awards category. This category will be judged by Richard Edelman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Edelman.
