With the success of our first inaugural ranking of “The Most Influential Men and Women in Social Media“, a new round of nominations are now being requested with an urge to stay current with the ongoing changes within the industry.
You can nominate both men and women by including their name(s) and a blog URL in a reply below. Nominations end June 8th, 2009 at 11:59pm and voting will begin shortly after.
A fourth judging criteria has been added to the three used for the last ranking, again contributing to the continuous development within social media.
- Involvement Ranking (A score of 0-4 will be assigned): Public Speaking/Events – Points will be awarded to individuals who helped educate the market place through hosting events connected to the area of social media.
- Community Votes (A score of 0-2 will be assigned): After all the nominations have been recorded, you will be given a chance to vote.
- Engagement Measurement (A score of 0-2 will be assigned): With the use of PostRank‘s engagement analysis tool, the frequency of interaction between online content and audience will be measured.
- Twitter Influence (A score of 0-2 will be assigned): With the use of the Twitalyzer tool, each nominees Twitter influence will be evaluated.
In order to qualify for the final voting, all nominees must either have a blog or actively contribute to one which is RSS accessible. A blog URL must also be included as it is essential in engagement measurement category of the judging criteria.

Hi Dave,
I would like to nominate my business partner, social media advocate extraordinaire Martin Waxman. In addition to being a tireless advocate of social media within the PR community, our clients and our office, Martin is always willing to educate and train others on the value of blogging, Twitter, etc.
Martin was an early adopter of Twitter, blogging and of adding social media components to PR campaigns.
His Social Media 101 presentation is much in demand, he is a regular contributor on the Inside PR podcast and he is teaching a course in social media in McMaster University’s PR certificate program.
Don’t forget to include the blog/site url for your nominations – a url is required for final voting.
Thanks
