Breaking News – Bebo Sees 43% Growth In Mobile Views In Canada, Extends Bebo Open Mobile To All Carriers

Although we have one of the highest broadband penetration rates per capita in the world, Canadians still love to use their mobile devices and we love to access use them to access social networks.  It does not come as that much of a surprise that the world’s third largest social network, Bebo has seen a 43% increase in mobile page views since January.  In an effort to capture more of the Canadian mobile audience Bebo has officially announced today that they have extended their Open Mobile program to all Canadian carriers, device manufacturers and mobile software developers and offers partners a suite of tools to support the delivery of the Bebo social networking experience to mobile users.

Sean Kane, Global Head of Mobile, Bebo, says “Canada is now a growth market for Bebo mobile. Covering 96%* of the mobile market provides us the opportunity to help connect people with everyone and everything they care about.”

To date Bell Mobility, Fido, Rogers Wireless and Virgin Mobile Canada have joined the program where mobile customers can receive Bebo alerts and updates on their mobile phones through the 2326 (BEBO) short code. Users can also update their Bebo profiles, participate in special offers, send virtual goods and interact with friends through the short code.
