Astral Media has had a busy year with a constant flow of new shows, corporate structuring in 2007 over its divisions which span across TV, radio, outdoor and online. Their latest news is Standard Interactive (who has also been busy this year) which Astral purchased in October of this year will fold into Astral iMedia and together will become the 3rd largest online entertainment portal delivering 5.5 million unique visitors per month (based on comScore data) expanding over 160 sites. The expanded division will be headed up by Claude Lizotte, VP & GM, Astral iMedia who adds “real one stop shop, capturing all of our Internet properties for a variety of web-based campaigns to serve the advertising community with a unified and dedicated sales force.â€
Jean-Marie Heimrath, of Astral iMedia Toronto, believes that “these combined properties, reaching a highly responsive 23% of the Canadian population, offer a very compelling addition to any agency’s online buy. Now, the question for advertisers simply becomes how can I afford not to place with Astral iMedia.â€
