Amazon.com tops customers shopping exc

Jezz Bezos and crew have done it again. According to the 2nd Annual Blastradius Research Report they have discovered that Amazon.com as “America’s Best Online Shopping Experience.” The study digs into the top 100 online sites and looks at it from a customer’s point of view and who is providing the best experience.

What makes a great user experience online?

No surprise here, enabling customer participation, tagging, customer blogs and discussion boards; or in other words “social media.” Online competition is heating up year after year, Buy.com experienced the largest growth compared to 2005. The company moved from the bottom of the pack to the 4th spot this year with the addition of RSS feeds which now allow shoppers to stay up to date adn engaged in new product, sales, promotions.

“Online retail has changed dramatically in the past year, with many more retailers putting more effort into offering a consistent experience across all stages of customer interaction,” said Idris Mootee, senior vice president of strategy and innovation for Blast Radius. “Going forward, experience-based differentiation will mark the new leaders in online retailing, so more retailers will be seeking true cross-channel integration and encouraging community participation and engagement to support online purchases.”
