When you are the largest social network on the planet you want to “hire good people who can hit the ground running,” that’s the message that Facebook Canada’s Louise Clements shared with me recently told me as we took some time to catch up and discuss what’s going on in Canada’s Internet landscape. After many months of “wooing” from some pretty senior people at Facebook on both sides of the border they have hired Alfredo Tan as the company’s Senior Director of Sales.
Prior to joining Facebook, Alfredo was Senior Director in Charge of all Mobile which includes marketing, sales, product and carrier partnerships at Yahoo! Where he had responsibilities in both Canada and the United States. He was also responsible for Search Marketing, Rogers Yahoo! Partnership (Media, Internet, Mobile), and Business Development (all deals across the portal).
At Facebook Canada he will be tasked with managing and growing the entire sales team and key direct and strategic relationships. Alfredo will report to Louise Clements.
