A few changes taking place over at Canadian publisher La Presse with Guy Crevier announcing that he will leave his role as day-to-day operations. The organization has also announced that Pierre Elliott Levasseur has been appointed President, La Presse. Since 2006 Pierre has served as the Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Crevier, who presided over La Presse’s successful shift to digital, is named Vice-Chairman of the Board, La Presse (Gesca), and will stay on as Publisher.

As its Executive Vice President, Pierre’s duties included managing La Presse’s digital operations and overseeing all facets of the development and implementation of La Presse+. From 1995 to 2006, he worked for Power Corporation of Canada and Power Financial Corporation, where he was Treasurer from 2001 to 2006.
